High Glycemic Index (GI)
The majority rice we eat is white rice. However, it is considered as less healthy because it has a high Glycemic Index (GI) , that may increase the risk of diabetes.
* Glycemic index(GI): a rating system which serves as an indicator on the blood glucose levels based on how quickly food is digested. Generally, the slower it takes to be digested, the lower the GI. The GI of 70 or higher is considered as a high glycemic index.
